Multi-Vehicle Accident Injures Eight In Brooklyn

In Clinton Hall, one driver made a terrible decision which impacted many others.

At around 4 p.m., police officers pulled over the driver of a silver Honda due to a traffic infraction. Initially, the stop seemed to be proceeding normally, however, as officers approached the car of foot, the driver hit the gas and took off.

Two blocks later, the driver went through a red light and in the intersection where the car hit an MTA bus and the impact send both vehicles into two other cars. A total of eight people were rushed to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The police were able to arrest one of the two people that were inside of the Honda but the other one is still at large.

Car Accident Insurance May Not Be Enough

In New York, the minimum amount of medical coverage required by the driver of any car is only $25,000 for one person and $50,000 for all involved in the accident. Considering the fact that eight people were injured, it's quite possible for that amount to be maxed out just for the initial hospital visit depending on the treatments needed and the time spent in the hospital.

When this happens and the victims are left financially and physically struggling because of the actions of another person, it may be possible to pursue legal action through a car accident lawsuit. A lawsuit help cover medical expenses, lost wages, physical pain and suffering and even emotional trauma.
